1) Sony ACP-88 Power Supply 2) Digitising

Hi

1) Does anyone have a Sony ACP-88 Power Supply that I could buy?  This is for a Sony Video Camera Recorder 8 (Handycam Digital) CCD-V5OE from 1988.  I don't think it has been touched since 1997.   I would like to watch some Sony 8mm video cassettes (P5-120MP) on the camera and I hope the camera will work if I can plug it in.

2) I would like to digitise the cassettes IF I can watch them and decide on the footage.  Worst case scenario I can use VHS Pal cassettes as the source.  I'm tempted to do this myself and have looked online and YouTube and have come across: Elgato Video Capture, ClearClick Video to Digital Converter 2.0 (Second Generation) and DIGITNOW!  I also know a company who could do this for me.  Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Thank you.

Hey Medina56, my advice is to buy only from trusted retailers, but again since the camera is too old I'm not sure if you'll find the part. For the second question, my choice would be the company to make sure I don't ruin them

Hallo Medina56,

1. I think you can find a power supply on e-bay. There are Sony or third party adapters there...

2. I think these solutions are quite expensive and if you have only a few cassettes to digitise it will be better to go to a proffessional. This is how it works here in Greece!

I'd highly advise against using 3rd-party adapters, especially when it comes to anything related to power.

You can try checking with Sony engineers, but if all else fails, definitely go for the professional company instead.

Hope this helps!
