I am able to view content stored on my NAS drive on my older Sony TVs (2009-2012) but I have yet to work out how to do this on my new Sony Android TV (KD49XF8577). Do I have to hardwire the TV into my network as it's currently only on Wi-Fi (which works well for Youview, etc. as I have a Mesh system)? If not, then how is this done please. Thank you.
I've managed to do this on my 49XE8077 using Kodi 18 over wifi. HD content works fine, 4K buffers a bit because my NAS is under powered.
Thank you adamski99_uk. I've got it working now. I can't remember exactly how I configured it to work (there are so many options and menus) but the TV hadn't found my 'device' (NAS drive). There isn't an option to search or add a device (in so many words at least) but I must have visited an option where the device was added. Now works well, except for the odd bit of freezing when streaming HD. It's over Wi-Fi so I might connect via a cable if this becomes a regular 'feature'. Thanks again for taking the time out to reply. Barabob
