UHD 4K TV. KD49XF809BU 49"
Anybody help on problem with 'stretched dispaly' on 4k tv.
Sky Q box fitted and checked, it isn't a SKY problem, they tell me.
All settings have been checked but the vertical stretch is still there.
It is not connected to 'old movies or tv programes' having black at top, bottom or sides. Just that the view in full screen is stretched so that all people look long and thin and cars look high and narrow. TV is only 2 months old but maybe a 2018.

Hi @jbk1957 It sounds like you have a problem with you aspect ratio. It depends on what you have set your picture resolution on Sky Q. Also are you connecting your Sky Q box direct to the TV? If your Sky Q is set to 2160p then there is no control. However if it is set to 1080i or 1080p then you can adjust the aspect ratio by pressing [Action Menu] on your remote, going down to Wide Mode and checking that it is on Full.

Thanks for reply. It is on full. Nothing in SETTINGS changes the aspect which is set at default 4:3.
Hi @jbk1957
What picture resolution have you set in Sky Q?
Home -> Settings-> Setup -> Audio visual-> Picture resolution.
If it is not 2160p then what are your settings while watching Sky Q? On the TV Home -> Settings-> Display -> Screen. List all the settings for HDMI X.
You may have to reset your TV to Factory Reset and then make sure that you set the screen to 16:9 during the initial set up.

Hi @jbk1957
Here is my set up with no problems.
If I was a betting man it’s because you have Auto display area Off.
i would perform a soft reboot after making changes (hold down the remote Power button until you see Power Off appear on the screen).

Hi @jbk1957 If a factory reset did not fix the problem then it looks like a unique problem with your TV. Perhaps time to talk to your Retailer or Sony UK Support
