I know there are lots of reports online about the A1 OLED line having this issue but I wanted to throw up what I've found on the AF8 range (2018).
No issues when the screen is on. I've yet to hear an official response from Sony.

Hi @sidechained,
I'm not sure exactly why would you call that an issue. It is clearly a characteristic of the TV fabrication process which does not effect in anyway the use of it. Obviously traditionally we expect the screen panel to be flat, but then again Acoustic Surface or Acoustic Surface Plus technology is anything but traditional design and all Sony TV's with this technology will have it. Just like the dimensions or exterior color of the product, you can't expect one TV to be different than all others, they will all have the same dimensions or exterior color. If for any reason you prefer to have a 100% flat screen panel, then logically you will need to purchase a different TV without Acoustic Surface Plus technology.
Cheers,
