Problem with BBCiplayer and ITV Hub / TV Model KD-55XD8005

Hello

Ref- TV Model KD-55XD8005

BBCiplayer and ITV hub will no longer load unless the tv is unplugged and turned on again. This has only happened after the latest Sony software update and all other apps are fine- any solutions are appreciated- it’s a really a pain having to unplug the TV everytime we want to use these apps...

I was about to recommend resetting the TV when I found that there's been a new update for your TV v6.6555, could you try updating to it and let us know if you still have to manually restart afterwards? It does mention in the notes that it improves the performance in general and the standby performance as well, so there's a very high chance it addresses this app-reset issue.

Have you tried resetting the cache for both?   Factory reset should have done this but try soft reset to close apps and then clear cache before re launching

 

Another option would be to sideload them but don't think that will give you the ability to launch from youview ad you'll in effect end with 2 versions of the apps

Have you tried clearing the cache? by pressing Home - Settings - Storage and reset - Internal storage - clear cached data

 

Also, sometimes the TV says it's up to date while it isn't. Could you double check it by pressing on Help - System Information?
