CBS Reality app not working
- Hi
Have 2018 KD49XF9005. Only connected TV to aerial during initial set up. (Now only use Sky and WiFi for catch up-150mbps)
As you know, the CBS app is found via Youview screen, then Players. However, when I select this, screen says loading but then just blank screen. (All other apps
in same location work fine)
Has anyone else had this problem? I thought the aerial was only needed for initial set up?)
Thank you.

Hey SteveStacey, since you're using Sky only now, I recommend contacting Sky directly.

Sorry, you've misunderstood me. I meant TV is connected to Sky and also catch up, via WiFi. (Is no aerial connection) I 'm talking about watching CBS Reality app on the Sony TV. There is definitely a g pitch with the app. Keeps either asking for pin (which has never been set), or just crashed with blank screen when trying to load. App works fine on other devices but not Sony.
Nothing to do with Sky.
Thanks

Hey there, did you try for force stop the app and remove the updates for it? Or, have you completely removed it and reinstalled it again?

Thanks.
Taken me an age to log in past all these ridiculous captchas.
Think I know how to force stop but “completely” remove updates.
No haven’t removed and reinstalled app, as preinstalled (In Youview/Players), so thought I couldn’t. Don’t mind trying as long as I don’t have to restore Sony to factory settings to get it back.
Regards

Yea I would recommend doing that as long as you don't want to reset the TV, I think that should solve it without resetting the whole TV.

Hi again
Uodate: CBS Reality app is located within YouView app. (You have to navigate to YouView/Players, then launch the app from there. When I press on remote it just launches (or in this case doesn’t😡) launch the app. There is no option to depress for a few seconds to get the uninstall option.
If it’s not working and I can’t delete:reinstall, I guess I can return to John Lewis for a replacement.
Not impressed.
Thanks

Hi SteveStacey, is there a digital aerial connected to the TV? Just curios.
Why don't you try to reset the TV to the factory settings? Or connect it to a personal hotspot.

TV was only connected to aerial fir initial set up. We use Sky Plus for live TV, and obtain all catch up services (Sky and TV apps) via WiFi. The “Youview/Players” option is for apps, and has zero to do with live TV. I have no intention of resetting factory defaults for the umpteenth time, with all that this entails. Also knowing it won’t change the underlying problem,
I’ve spoken to a few Bravia owners now, and they said the CBS Reality app was the most erratic.
I’ll take it back to JLs and advise that Sony acknowledged the problem but can offer no fix.

Update
Have connected to aerial and done channel rescan. App still crashes after “loading” message.
