Can't add my new Bravia into a Google Speaker Group
Hi there,
Having a quite weird and annoying issue at the moment. For some reason I'm not able to add my new Bravia with built-in Chromecast into a Google Speaker Group. No problems at all with my other Google Cast devices (Chromecast, Chromecast Audio). It is now just my brand new Android TV that is having this issue. Is it just me or someone else having the same case? Very annoying as looking to complete my plans of having full house multi room audio setup.
With BR,

Hi Jari,
This is the latest version that can be installed on Sony Android TVs, there is no other update available. I'd recommend getting in touch with google to check if this version is compatible with the speaker group function.
Cheers,

What is this now? Google says that it is up to you (Sony) to deliver the latest version (what they have released) and now you are saying that Sony has the latest version what Google has released?
What I'm not now getting?

I have the exact same issue. I'm not enjoying needing to wait for the TV Manu to update the Android OS version/firmware... this is not the greatest experience for me so far. The fact that Google says that Andoird TV Chromecast Built-In devices should be compatible and yet ti does not is very annoying to me. https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/7174267

At least we could get a release date?
I just saw this post on Google Chromecast forum from a Gold Product Expert:
Check with Sony and see if they have released the update that adds this ability or if they have a proposed date.
Google is able to directly update stand-alone Chromecasts but the code for built-in ones has to go to the manufacturer (Sony) and then they have to distribute it to their devices.
We had the same issue with Audio Groups for smart speakers... stand alone Chromecast Audios got the feature but it took months for speaker manufacturers to roll their updates out. Link: https://support.google.com/chromecast/thread/897807?msgid=899920
