Greetings, does anyone know if the latest firmware for the Sony Bravia 9 released on the 30/09/2025 has fixed the pumping brightness bug reintroduced in the August update. ?
Only had my Bravia 9 a few days and I’ve yet to update it from the firmware it shipped with.
Always handy to include the model number of your Sony Bravia 9 TV.
On the presumption that your TV is the 65 inch model K-65XR90 you can click on the link below
to the Sony support site for this model.
Click on Downloads, click on the Firmware text, make sure to click on View All Applicable Models and you will see the three Bravia 9s appear. the page will tell you what bugs the firmware addresses, you can also click on View previous benefits and improvements.

What do you mean by the 'pumping brightness bug'?
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Sorry I have the K-65XR90 model.
The brightness pumping bug copied off Google.
On August 4, 2025 Bravia 9 firmware update/patch version 112.633.060.1NNA , which was not revised as a new version, is now causing brightness and shadow pumping when scenes change from bright to dark and vice a versa. See it mostly in Dolby Vision but may happen in HDR and SDR. It is somewhat connected to the Black Adjust being used and or High Contrast/Brightness settings or the combination with the Black Adjust setting. This appeared right after the firmware update. Again the update did not change the version number V112.633.060.1NNA but has a release date of August 4 2025 as mentioned before on both Bravia 9’s. This pumping was a pervious issue a while beck and had been fixed with an update. Now the recent update/patch brought is back somehow.
Have you experienced this ? Or any bugs in game mode..games dimming like overly aggressive ABL.?
