Advise on hard drive for KD-49XE9005

Hi I am not very technical but have bought and set up the above smart TV but didn’t realise I would need a hard drive to pause or rewind on live TV. Can anyone advise me on what I need to get please and how I set it up?

Sony Android TVs dont support timeshift (pause and rewind/ffwd of live TV).

Yes. I know. Unbelievable!

My midrange samsung from 2011 supported it, but my tv from 2017 doesn't.

There is a workaround to start recording then to find the list of recordings and watch from there.
