Pc sync flash adaptor

I want to add a pc sync adapter to my HVL-45RM flash to enable use of multi flash when off camera. Is there a solution for this?

Hi Schnauzervillage,

The only shoe adaptor I found is this one: https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/cscs/accessories/compatibility.php?area=gb&lang=en&mdl=HVL-...

Hi Black Rose

yes I saw this but it converts from MIS to old Sony as I understand it. There a couple of things I want to do, one which cannot be sorted with adaptor shoe and one which can with the correct type.
1. I would really like RCV mode on flash to be able to drive multi mode but this is a limitation of the commander I presume. One which could possibly be sorted with a firmware update.
2. the other is to connect my flash to a miops trigger. The 45-rm would need to have a pc sync socket which I didn’t realise it hadn’t got. But I’ve found something which for the price maybe worth the purchase risk. Pixel-TF336, what do you think?https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F283543601863

Hi Schnauzervillage ,

To be honest, I don't think using an external non Sony adaptor will sort the issue as Sony always mentions that they do not guarantee the functionality of their products with other products that aren't mentioned in the compatibility section online.

Hi BH

yes I agree using non Sony gear with precious camera gear is a fools game. I just wish I’d researched a bit better. Since previous post my HVL-F45RM developed a blank screen fault. I’ve returned it and secured a great deal on a new HBL-60RM which does have flash sync. I have a goddox TT600s I’ll probably use the sync shoe adapter with that and my MIOPS trigger. I think I’m sorted now!

regards PJ

Hi, I hope you did find the solution to your issue. I have a similar frustration - I though the new SONY Radio wireless flashes would be the solution I needed for my Splash Art water drop images - https://www.flickr.com/photos/minolta4me-kevin/albums/72157663815140802

I have an even older Camera Axe water drop system and use the Open Shutter method in a darkened room.

I hoped that the newly purchased HVL-F60RM and the newly purchased HVL-F45RM  together with a wireless adapter FA-WRR1   added to my older HVL-F60M [optical but not on it's own Radio, wireless].

HOWEVER the Camera Axe used a camera trigger cable... no problem.....
AND a FLASH trigger cable 3.5mm jack plug socket.... to go to trigger the flash being used as the commander !!!!!
BUT a commander flash of any sort that is triggered from a PC flash synch or the screwed flash connector DOES not fire the other flashes - great if firing FROM the camera hot shoe but the Camera Axe triggers camera AND separately the flash NOT from the camera !
Several Hundred pounds later I have had to go BACK to the old Minolta Triple cable connector and trailing wires !
ANYONE ANY IDEA how to trigger those RM Sony flashes that have any additional connector PC synch or the screwed flash cables.... ?
