Not sure how anyone feels at the moment, but it feels like Sony is sidelining or just ignoring its APS-C customer base. We just havent seen a great deal of movement in support for the aps-c line. the a6X00 series camera are running old firmware and it feels like sony is not interested and supporting it any longer.
Are there plans for Sony to release firmware updates to the a6x00 line or is it all about full frame at them moment, especially in light of the release of the a7C?
Well 3 months since this was posted and there has been no reply to a representative from Sony, which will only fuel suspicions. With a6000 also discontinued and no firmware releases for the existing a6400 line up, at least its clear where Sony's attention is.
I'm not sure if any updates are expected any time soon, do you have issues with the current software in terms of performance or is your post about receiving new features via updates?

- Well there is the ability of using the Sony Play Memories app, expecting customers to purchase a now discontinued camera is not exactly an ideal solution, especially if those apps have been paid for. While the time-lapse feature has been put into the Sony a6400, 6100 and 6600, it would be nice to have some of the other play memories apps integrated into a firmware. I fail to understand how the likes of Olympus are able to have features in their cameras that can allow users to easily create star trails amongst other things with their live composite feature and yet Sony seems to be cutting back on the software / firmware aspect of their current line up of camera but are more interested in releasing more expensive cameras. At the very least, if the company is not willing to develop the software needed, open up the SDK to allow developers to allows to tap into the Sony software echo system to develop apps that people will need.
- Secondly, when changing modes from PAL to NTSC and restarting the camera, I do not always want to be reminded that the camera is running in NTSC mode. That is really annoying to say the least.
Performance wise, I am quite satisfied with the a6400 but the above 2 are big ones for me.
