3. What's the next dslr up from a580 will Sony continue dslr's?

Whats the best way to weather seal the a580 and is there any underwater

Hello TheInfinite - Welcome to the Sony Forums

To answer your questions in order ................

How can I get my a580 sensor cleaned professionally?

This is something that you can get done at your local photography specialist. Alternatively, there are various online companies offering a professional cleaning service for between £30-£50. If you Google 'SLR sensor cleaning' you will see the options available.

How can I tether my a580 to a pc, is it possible?

There is a 'tethering of sorts' on this camera - you can connect the HDMI output to a TV or compatible monitor for a live view of the content that is also appearing on the LCD screen.

What's the next dslr up from a580 will Sony continue dslr's?

This isn't really something that I have any information about, however the latest information will always be released via www.sony.co.uk and other official news outlets.

Whats the best way to weather seal the a580 and is there any underwater cases available for this camera?

There are soft waterproof cases available which also have a UV filter built into the lens section and these and these are produced by companies such as DiCAPac and Aquapac. They are available online and through eBay for between $100-$200. For Aquapac in particular, you can contact them through their store and ask for specific advice about which of their cases may fit your A580.

Thanks,

Simon

1. Lots of places online.  Any proper camera shop.

2. Not if you want to change the settings like you can with a Sony A700.  Even the latest flagship A77 does not do tethering and it is a HUGE mistake on Sony's part, :slight_frown:  I'll not hold my breath waiting for them to add it to my A77.  If you want tethering, get a Canon or Nikon.

3. It is unlikely that Sony will produce any more dSLRs with Optical View Finders, they will continue to produce the SLT line with the Electronic View Finder and fixed mirror.  If you want an OVF, get a Canon or Nikon.

Current model up from the A580 is the A65, then the A77.  If you wait a week or two there is a rumoured A57 annoucement.

From your questions, I'd say Sony isn't for you.

Hi nikkilim

If you mean the sensor cleaning service, I guess you could use Sony's repair service. Maybe check with Sony Customer Service first to see if they can give you a cost estimate.

The phone number is 0844 8466 555

Cheers

Mick
