Hello,
I noticed that if I'm using a bluetooth headset and tried to make a phone call, the call will be directed to the 'phone' rather than the BT headset. It doesn't matter if I am still listening to music or just have the headset on stand by.
It doesn't happen if I receive a call. If I have the headset connected, I can talk via the headset.
Is anyone experiencing the same situation? Am I missing a setting or something? I think it happened while it was Android 12, but certainly now on 13 - updated to 65.1.A.5.25
Thanks in advance.
Hey @Automat-2015, what is your Xperia model? and have you tried to disconnect and re-pair the headphones with your phone? Also is it a Sony headphones?
The handset is a Xperia 10 IV and the headsets are Sony WFC500 and Soundcore Life P3.
Neither of them route the outgoing phone calls to the headset, despite being connected, paired and have been used up to the point of making the call at times.
Incoming calls come to the headset if connected without an issue.
I forgot to add that this is also reproduced with the Bluetooth connection in my car.
Hey, can you try these steps and check again settings-apps & notifications- see all apps-3 dots on top right corner-show system- Bluetooth-storage-clear cache- clear data - one step back-force stop
Then restart the device and reset the connection between both devices and try again.
Unfortunately, it hasn't resolved the problem. I tried to delete cache, memory and devices from the app, but I think that there is a setting - phone or Google - that remembers connections from old devices and I had it switched on in previous handsets. I think it was meant for WiFi connections only, though can't find it now and couldn't tell if it works on Bluetooth connections too.
The behaviour of the phone app when I am trying to call someone is still to end up directing the sound to 'phone' rather than the connected bluetooth headset.
When you go to the Bluetooth section of the phone and see the headphones connected does it clearly say connected for phone calls and media?
You might need to check that.
