Xperia IV restarting: Hotspot + Android Auto via cable (with Waze navigation)

Hello,

I don't know, where is the issue, but the phone is restarting sometimes, when I am using Android Auto (cable) with Waze app. I had enabled WiFi hotspot and using mobile data from eSIM. And the phone was restarting each 10 minutes.

If there will be issue with AA or Waze, it should only crash the app, there must be something other wrong.

Do you anybody know, why the phone is restarting?

Smartphones behaving strange often suffer from not well designed software on board.

There are poor designed apps that don't handle memory usage in a proper way.

In general you can test issues like this by restarting your Xperia in safe mode.

It will restart with just the pre-installed apps running.

You might also have a look at the Support app on your phone .

The main menu shows information on how to troubleshoot, how to go into safe mode and more.

When you tap on Device Overview you will find a listing of App issues. (if there are any)

Hello @Strampke,

I am sorry, I haven't time to try it and I didn't travel by car. I will try it soon.

Hello @Strampke,

sorry, I tried restart in safe mode, but there isn't available Waze in Android Auto.

Hi @zavovi, the safe mode actually disables all third-party apps. The purpose is to confirm if you're facing an issue with one of your apps or the phone itself, but this won't really help you in your situation.

You can try troubleshoot the app by uninstalling and installing it again and also check these steps.

Hi,

I was testing it the long time. I tried another navigation app and tried after some updates of Waze and now, it seems, that it is working. Maybe, it could caused it by the hot weather, now the weather is colder.

There is lot of influences, which can causing problems. And it isn't easy to test it.

Thank you for help.

Best regards,

Vilem

Anyway, there's an alternative for Waze.

It's AmiGO from TomTom.

It's free.
