Am I being stupid?
The Sony Xperia 1 has a beautiful large display which would be brilliant to take full screen photos on, however I cannot for the life of me find the setting which would achieve this.
Is this not an option for the phone?! I know it is capable as if you take a picture using the WhatsApp app the picture is full screen however this is not ideal as focus is never great through what's app and you have to send the picture in order for it to save locally.
I also take thousands of pictures every year and as I never delete any, my phone becomes saturated with pictures. This was no problem for the xz premium as I take pictures with geo-tags enabled, I would use the location option in Sony Album app to find a pictir I was looking for.
Has this feature disappeared?
Open the album app > swipe left to right > places
Open the camera app > tap the aspect ratio icon
Yeah, taking pictures in 21:9 is not yet possible.
Sony Album - yes that is how it works on all of my previous Sony phones however the places option is not present on the Xperia 1 for me

@Uliwooly I know you have been on these forums for a long while and have provided help to many people - thanks. However, you clearly don't own an X1, and unfortunately both your answers above are wrong and merely confuse matters, I'm afraid.
Filtering by geolocation appears to have been removed inexplicably from the Album app.
And it is already a known issue that it is currently impossible to take pictures in 21:9 ratio in the Camera app (the only fudge at the moment is to take a still photo while recording a video in the Camera Pro app.
