[VGN-C1Z/B] Upgrading Hard Drive

Hi, just wondered whether if i can still use my recovery disc if i upgrade the hard drive within my Vaio C1Z/B?

I would like to upgrade to a much higher capacity and high speed (7200rpm).

Oh!, and also is upgrading the hard in this laptop easy?

Hi Dave,

Yes, you can use the Recovery Discs to reinstall the original software onto a new Hard Disc. This will install only the software that was installed when you bought the Vaio.

The other way is to use something like Acronis True Image to make an Image of your existing drive which will include updates, settings, programs, data etc. so you would not have to update everything.

It is fairly straightforward to replace the hard disc - if you send me your email address by PM, I will send you the C-Series Manual.
