My Sony Vaio PCV-RS402 has been brilliant over the years and I now want to enable it to connect wirelessly to the internet. I have a wireless router. What compatible cards can be installed into my tower to make this happen?

Hi robcee123 and welcome.
You have a choice. You should have at least one spare PCI slot - 2 if your model does not have Gigajuke. You also have USB ports which provide a more simple solution.
Any PCI Wireless Adapter can be fitted (NOT PCI-Express) and you will find lots on Amazon.: -
I presume you know how to remove the case - I think on your model you need to remove the 3 screws holding the casing to the back panel and then slide the entire cover backwards.
The easier option is to get a USB wireless WiFi Adapter - all you have to do is plug it in!. On a desktop tower like yours, it is sensible to get one with an extension lead to give better reception (even than the PCI Card).
Other choices are available if you search.
