PIONEER DVR-K12D (aka PCGA-DDWGT1)

hi community,

recently I'm looking for helping hands in regard to following problem:

GRT816S with PIONEER DVR-K12D
instead of the shipped with OEM Windows XP Home installed Windows XP Pro (full orig vers) and all Windows and regulary updates recommended by Sony through viao-link already done, means v1.10 dvd update for the above DVR-K12D. The update process was successful without any fault message.

Now, my DVD can't read anything on disks furthermore, no blank CD/DVD, no Sony Recovery Disk - only the orig Windows XP Pro is readable currently.

What and how shall I do to solve the problem?

Thanks.

Strange that it shows up twice, now which one to remove?

As for the ASPI check, the newer version uses less host adapters.

I did delete one (with the 'x'), the other one impossible to delete.

As for the ASPI check, I can't install higher then v4.60, if as shown always 'no properly installed' ....

@Kee-lo & James

I did fix the problem during the last days ....

Generally spoken, the problem seems to be a chain of several software parts ..... (which Sony Notebook don't like  )

1. comes back to Windows Media Player 9 (instead of vers 10)
and re-installation of Nero Fast Burning CD plugin and HighMAT
2. comes back to MoodLogic 2.5 (instead of vers 2.7)
3. complete de-installation of iTunes
4. complete de-installation of QuickTime Player

AND IT WORKS NOW

Thank you all for given helping hands so far .....

Yes I didn't bother with the HighMAT update, so I think that could be the issue here....

Did you finally find a solution of your problem?
I've the same.

In my case I just made an update from internet for XP(Home) and now it seems to be an XP(PRO).

Yep, I did find a solution. I took the machine to Sony. Finally, last days ago my Pioneer DVR-K12DVA (CD-RW/DVD+/-RW Drive) became a Sony DW-U50A (CD-RW/DVD±RW Drive).
So, it's no software, driver, third-party, missing .dll-files or anything else problem - it's a hardware problem home-made by Sony as far as I can see.
