Disable Touchpad when using External Mouse

Is there any what of disabling the touchpad mouse when I plug in an external mouse?

I'm just finding that when I'm typing my thumbs hit the touchpad, so I end up with text not where I want it.

You can the following first:
START>Control Panel>Mouse then open the register "Tapping" and deactivate that function. That'll keep the touchpad frommoving your coursor when hitting it with your finger.

An automated function for the deactivation whilst connecting an external is not possible to my knowledge.

On my VAIO there is an option to disable the touchpar while typing, this prevents that annoying cursor moving thing happening! Its under control panel > mouse sumwhere

Ah, ever since I installed the Microsoft mouse driver, the Sony settings have disappeared.

Ok I might just uninstall the Microsoft driver and just use the standard driver.

Cheers folks
