Dots all over the screen (regular Z5)

Greetings.

This is my first time on this site. The thread title might confuse you, so allow me to elaborate: I have bought two Sony Xperia Z5 phones from Amazon and upon removing the pre-applied screen protectors, I saw those odd-looking dots all over the displays (see picture)

Before I ask for a third Z5 phone, I'd like to seek your help to ensure if that was just bad luck or not. Also, the dots cannot be wiped clean. Sadly.

I have no idea what those are, 'cause this is actually my first Sony smartphone, so forgive my lack of knowledge if that is actually a common thing, but the fact remains that I never before saw anything like that before. I admit that this is irritating me beyond measure, since I pay close to attention to my phones always.

On the picture, you can see a light which is on the left side, but that is from my flashlight so you guys can see the dots more clearly; they are all over the screens and no, they are not pixel errors, for they can be seen even when the phones are off.

Hi Kryptonian,

Welcome to the community,

These dots are from the digitizer, they allow you to be able to use touch input. They are on every Xperia touch screen device we have released. These dots are generally only seen in some lighting conditions.

I hope this helps.

@Kryptonian

Settings > about phone > diagnostics > test the screen

seems like a hardware issue more than software but you can repair the phone with PCC and see if it helps if not return it

Neither the test nor that program could change anything to the better. Those dots are on the actual displays from the outside after all. Do you or any other Z5 owner see/saw the same things? Maybe it is normal for the Z5, tho I'd like to be absolutely sure about that, so I can pursue a flawless device, then.

Thanks for your response anyway.

@Kryptonian

If you could take another picture, bc it seems like stuck pixels

No stuck/dead pixels. Those dots are visible even when the phones are off. They cannot be wiped clean. Here is another pic, tho it doesn't differ much from the first:

Whole screens are like that. The dots go along the displays vertically and horizontally. Any other Z5 owner who has the same issue? Please let me know what this is or if it's normal.

Could you take the picture without flash, it's hard to tell if it's the flash or the screen

Much obliged for your reply, Jake. Those dots are quite an eyesore to me, if I am honest, but since EVERY Z5 has them, then I have to accept it I guess, considering that I like everything else about the phone.
