Why doesn't my laptop have bluetooth module as advertised?

Please help! I have been trying to contact sony via telephone unsuccessfully. When I enter my serial number I am told that it is not valid, not matter how many times I enter and I know its correct! The same is when i try to fill out a support form. I have been on hold on both sonys contact numbers for over 20 minutes but nobody picks up...its within call hours.

I try using email support but again, i'm asked for my serial number (which I helpfully provided) and have received no reply!!!

I am at my wits end and very very angry because as far as I'm concerned I purchased a laptop which definitely listed bluetooth in the specs.

My laptop is a vaio C series in dark purple.model number: Vpcca2z0e

i bought it from comet (who also keep directing my back to sony) and i'm at a loss as its no longer listed on their website. the laptop is less than a year old-bought in november 2011.

if anyone has this model can you confirm bluetooth capabilities.

its has a i5 processor, 4gb ram and 280? HDD

Hi ukangel91,

You are correct that your model does have Bluetooth.

What problems are you having and have you enabled Bluetooth in Vaio Smart Network?

yes, its enabled in vaio smart network, but thats the only place where my computer has any bluetooth settings. whenever I try to transfer a file via bluetooth, or receive one, its states that my bluetooth radio is not pplugged in or not connected. (i've also tried a bluetooth file transfer with another laptop and its working fine, so its not my device, its the laptop)

my laptop has been in for repair at a sony centre for interference  problems in the past so could they have removed the module from my laptop without informing me?

i have searched everywhere on my laptop (windows 7) for any sign of bluetooth  and i can't find anything to switch it on aparrt from the smart network! sony wont reply to my emails or pick up the phone, and i cant stay on hold for ever :L

You could try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Bluetooth driver. There is also a Vaio Smart Network update for your model, but I doubt this is necessarily relevant to the problem.

If reinstalling the driver makes no difference please let us know and we will escalate to Support.

Hi, ive updated my smart network and reinstalled my bluetooth drivers. ive also restarted my laptop countless times...still nothing.

i think the problem lies in the fact that i have no bluetooth adaptor, as everytime i try clicking the bluetooth icon, to turn the adaptor on, in the notification tray, nothing happens. my bluetooth icon is constantly red and blue (as opposed to white and blue, meaning its on)

everytime i try opening any software or settings relating to bluetooth, i can just click away and absolutely nothing opens up, or turns on. the same is also true when clicking bluetooth settings in vaio smart network.
