Which way is the best way to connect my laptop to my TV?

Which leads and which sockets do I use please ?

My notebook is the Sony Vaio VGN-C2S and my TV is the latest 40inch Sony lcd

Depending on which Sony TV you have, you probably have two choices.

1. S-Video to S-Video cable PLUS 3.5 mm stereo jack to 2 X phono

2. VGA Monitor Cable (if the TV has a D-Sub 15-pin socket)

Have a look in your USER MANUAL - Pages 83 and 86

Thanks for your reply,
I have 15 pin sockets on the laptop and PC and have been told that this is the best way re picture quality etc.

Will I get sound if I use the 15 pin VGA sockets or do I have to use something else for sound?
