Hi friends,
Im new here, and just bought my Vaio
FS215B
I bought from a friend of mine and he lost all the CDs or DVDs that came with the notebook.
So, Where can I get or download the recovery CDs?
Thanks and sorry if the question is old.
Hi lorde vader,
when you buy a VAI0 notebook from new you would normally make you own recovery disk from the hard drive useing the program preinstalled on notebook. goto..
START-PROGRAMS-VAIO RECOVERY TOOL-VAIO RECOVERY UTILITY. Once your there youcan create your recovery disk.
if that does not work then you can order them from sony i think but they can be hard to get and expensive.
Be sure to use decent quality CD/DVDs, RW ones won't work and you might want to make a couple of copies to make sure and fire off a letter to Sony asking why they're so cheap you have to pay for your own.

Call Sony UK to get a set for £58

That wouldn't work, my dark Lord.
The Model and Serial number are in BIOS. If you insert the Disc, then it checks whether it's the correct VAIO. Simple, you couldn't use them. You would get an Error message like *This is not a certified Sony machine* or something like that.
HI Vader hope this link is of help to you, its based on the Sony VAIO FS115B but the proceedure is the same...
