Hi,
I've had my Xl202 since last October and have been very pleased with its performance especially when playing BD discs using the bundled 'WinDVD BD for Vaio' (I now have 14 in my collection). However, I have just received my pre-ordered copy of 'Casino Royale' and although it starts to play, the video is suffering from serious 'stutter'. The only difference I can see from other discs in my collection is that it is an AVC encode. Is this a known problem? Is there a fix?
I also have a copy of 'Cyberlink PowerDVD' and this also struggles to play the disc. Indeed the same problem occurred with 'The Descent' (also AVC) on PowerDVD which will load this BD-J title but playback shows severe 'stutter'.
Any help or advice would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.
As a number of people have viewed this thread I thought I'd let you know I resolved this issue myself a few weeks back.
I rolled back the 202 to its original state using the recovery tool and re-installed software. Playback of all BD discs including the AVC encodes is now very good.
I suspect the cause of the initial problem could have been conflict between numerous video codecs installed on my system.
