Vaio-FE31Z XP Pro shutdown problem

Hi I recently got a Vaio FE31Z that came with MCE, for several reasons i need XP Pro on it but when i do a clean install and then apply the sony drivers the laptop freezes on shutdown or restart.
Has anyone else come across this?
It only happens once i apply the drivers from sony site and seems to be the video driver and the camera driver that cause the problem.
