Unable to register vaio

hi there, just bought my 3td vaio and this time i`ve problems when im trying to register my laptop.its telling me that i`ve put wrong serial no. or the computer has been already registred in someone elses name.is that possible or what im supposed to do??

Is the serial number you are entering the same as the one in Start > All Programs > Vaio Control Centre > System Information..?
