Hi,
I have finally received notice that my Vista upgrade DVD had been sent to me; it should arrive in the coming 3 weeks.
Once I have made sure all my programs are compatible, I'll install Vista Business (and probably dual-boot at first) and upgrade to Vista Ultimate because I need some of its features. On the MS Anytime Upgrade website, the cost of the upgrade is 177 Euros. That is a lot of money knowing that the license I would get would remain an OEM one (tied to the computer) and that a full Vista Ultimate OEM only costs 200 Euros.
Does anybody know if Sony will provide a cheaper upgrade path to Ultimate? I know MS is allowing its partners to do it.
Thanks.
I've got the OEM Ultimate for 160€.
What I would like to know is, whether you can have stuff like "Windows DreamScean" in Vista Home Premium as well.
May I ask where you got Vista Ultimate OEM for 160 Euros?
online
I took the best price. (They change every day)
Ok, thanks.
You may look for "System Builder" too. It's same to OEM.
You will have to decide for 32bit or 64bit, because the CD contains only 32bit or 64bit.
Beside the SystemBuilder/OEM Vista CD, you will find a Preinstallation kit.
For VAIO notebooks I highly recommend 32bit. If you build your own PC, like me. Then there is no problem with 64bit. The driver support is pretty same then. (Not compareable to Windows XP x64)
This Pr. kit CD is the most worst centered CD I've ever hold in my hand. Well, you don't need this disc to install Vista.
