SZ1XP: Can't access Wireless Network running from batteries

I'm experiencing problems with my new VAIO SZ1XP accesing my wireless network. If the laptop is powered from the plug everything runs smoothly. But running from batteries the wireless connection does not work.

Can anyone help me?

Welcome to the Club!

Have a look in Device Manager for your wireless card and uncheck the box "Allow Windows to Turn Off this device to Save Power". (Something like that - I am writing this from memory on a desktop)

Also have a look in your Power Options to see if these are correctly configured.
