Using PowerDVD6 DVD disks run OK but video files (ripped using DVD-Decrypter) play jerkily- both video and sound. I notice that with DVD disks the HD flickers occasionally but with the files played from the hard drive the orange light stops abruptly every 4 or 5 seconds for about one tenth of a second (coinciding with the jerkiness) then resumes for another few seconds before repeating the jerkiness. Ever since the laptop came back from a breakdown about a month ago we have noticed the laptop runs slower and we can hear the parking mechanism of the HD working (never could hear it before). Has anyone an idea of what's happening here?
