I have recently bought my laptop, after a month or so an error message kept appearing on boot up, so already having bought Windows Vista Home Premeium i decided to format laptop and install a fresh copy, this sorted my error message thingy but now i am wanting to do a factory reset, only problem being that i didnt make the recovery discs and now cant find a way to do it. Can anybody help?????
Hi FunkyTowel and welcome.
Try this: -
Connect your Vaio to the mains AC supply.
Turn on your Vaio.
At the first Vaio Logo screen tap F10 repeatedly.
This should start the Recovery Centre - follow the instructions for a full factory recovery. Do not interrupt the recovery whatever happens.
Try it a few times if it doesn't work first time - if it does not work, your Recovery Partition has been deleted and you will need to buy a set of Recovery Discs from Sony. Cost about £30.
If it does work - MAKE RECOVERY DISCS>
Thanks for the welcome and the advice, unfortunately i had deleted the recovery partition, been in touch with Sony and have had to pay £30.99 for the recovery discs. (we learn from our mistakes eh!)
