sony vaio e series - sve 1511p1ew - blu ray?

I have a sony vaio E series - sve1511p1ew - laptop. As far as im aware it does not have a blu ray capability, indeed i have tried playing blu ray discs and it does not work. However in the My Computer page, it displays two drives, DVD RW Drive (D:) AND BD-ROM Drive (F:), also the lens of the drive is blue, does this not mean it is capable of playing blu ray discs? Any help is apreciated.

Hi rdscutters,

The specifications for this model state it has a DVD SuperMulti Drive (not BD). If it was a Blu-Ray drive it would have two lenses to provide backward compatibility with DVD’s and CD’s. A single blue laser diode is not an indication that it is BD.

I have no idea why My Computer is showing to separate drives unless you have install third party virtual drive software.
