Server resource in XP

Hi everybody,

I am trying to share a folder in my VGN-AR21B.
I have a wireless network with a second laptop and I can ping each computer (both senses).

However, I cannot share the desired folder. The system informs me that the Server resource has not been "started". Easy questions for you guys:
1) How can I start the Server resource in my XP System?
2) How can I configure it in order to automatically start this server after booting the VAIO.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciatte.
Have a great day.
Ricard

Hi Ricard,

You need to run the network setup wizard on both computers.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications…

Your computers must have different names but the workgroup name (eg Mshome) must be the same.

Hi Ricard

If you still get the Server error after running the Network Wizard then: -

Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> double-click on Services
Scroll down to "Server" and douible-click on it
On the General Tab change the Startup Type to 'Automatic' and Start the Service
Have a look in the Dependencies Tab and make sure everything in the 'This Service Depends on .......' box is also set to Automatic and 'Started'.
