Hi,

I own a VAIO PCG-GRT796HP for 2 years. A few days ago, I wanted to reinstall windows with the CD given with the computer. I’ve put the CD in the computer. After booting on the CD, I follow recommendations to format and reinstall windows but when it starts, after 3 minutes, it stops and an error message appears: “Cmd.exe. Impossible to satisfy the request because of an error of peripheral of E/S”. I'm obliged to cancel the procedure. Then the computer reboot but windows never starts. I’d like to know how to reinstall windows and if the problem come from the CD, how to have a new one corresponding of my VAIO.

Le CD est peut-etre rayer ou n'etais pas bien graver a l'usine.

Il faut demander a Sony VAIO-Link pour un nouveau copie

You might want to post your message in English on this forum.

I know that people in France are usually very proud pf their native tongue, but you´ll probably get more responses to your inquiry if you post in English. Even if it´s not the best English, grammar and spelling-wise.

I, for my part, do understand French rather well, but I´m not fluent enough to post in french.

As far as your problem is concerned, have you tried using the recovery partition on your hard disk instead of your CD/DVD?

Check under Start > All Programs > Vaio Recovery Tool.
