I have an xl 100 purchased in July 2006.
I had problems booting up one day and could not load windows and everything else failed but to run the recovery tool F10 from vaio screen.
I recovered the c drive reloaded everything and all was ok for a few weeks. I did get warning messages that there was bad segments on hard drive but pc rescued itself.
I then had the same thing again - windows won't load nothing works - so i tried to run the recovery tool again. The recovery tool also failed - it gets stuck at the please wait screen and never recovers. Now whenever i try to boot up the pc it automatically tries to run the recovery tool and gets stuck.
I can get into BIOS but that is it. Can't get to F5.
I think it is a hard drive problem but don't know how to get it put right.
Can anyone help please - i am lost without my pc!
