how many burns have failed? is it everytime? for dvd burning help try www.afterdawn.com

I use dvdshrink for general dvd backups, and dvd decrypter for under 4.7gb backups(single layer, ps2 games etc..)

have you tried doing a film onto a R not RW?

I managed 1 burn to an RW a couple of months back. Nothing has changed since then, I've not even done the SP2 stuff. Now every burn fails, although the last two I did failed with Nero but the DVD works in my PC but my PS2 won't read it, could be to do with the disk not being finalised??

I was thinking that the RW factor might be an issue so I'm going to try an R and see what happens, the reason I've been trying with RWs is that I didn't want to make a pack of coasters.

yeah but the price of discs now, i dont know anyone that uses packard bell discs but i can assure you youll be paying too much for them and i doubt that they will be ritek dye(the best)..

try here, www.blankdiscshop.co.uk go to the dvd section and then to the minus section, you see the prices of those, the one that use ritek g04 dye are said to be the best, thats what i use and have no probs, i use the A grade discs...

disc has to finalised before it will read in standalone players.. and RWs can have problems in standalones aswell.. RWs are generally advised just for backing up your pc stuff..

if your trying to back up a film from another dvd download dvd shrink and try that, you can read the user guide on www.afterdawn.com on how to use it, its dead simple...

Video_TS is the video part of a copyrighted pre-recorded DVD is it not? My pre-recorded DVD's say it is, and ditto the Audio_TS. They have copyright protection built it, so really it should be very obvious why it's the only kind of file you're having trouble burning. And if you are looking for ways around copy protection you're unlikely to find it here.

thats why its best to nip over to afterdawn.com, this isnt the place for ripping advice...

dvd decrypter and dvd shrink take the protection off..

REMEMBER: you MUST OWN the original for a back up to be legally acceptable..

Get some Ritek media - it's a lot better.
Don't buy cheap media, it's like throwing money down the toilet!

Very true, although in this case I think the problem was just that he was trying to knock off some "backups". I don't have much time for piracy, it's not like DVD's are expensive anymore.
