hi,
sorry to tell that you should have bought a centrino notebook for train-rides longer than 2 hours... my battery life is poor as well, but it does help a little to use 2 batteries.
joe
(if your battery is starting to decay... give it a maximum drain with some sort of external device and then a recharge with the notebook turned off!
yeh but it says my laptop should get 1 hour and 45 mins, and im only getting an hour, im a bit annoyed with that, and im only 17 so going out to buying a new battery isnt that easy coz i dont really have much money (spent most of my funds on this laptop).
i went to ebay and bought me compatible noname battery for 92 euro's... sony says that they can ruin your maschine... but other users and people told me that they have no problems with these batteries.
Before you run out and buy a new battery did you change some of the power saving settings in PowerPannel?
For example, lowering the brightness of the LCD can give you a few extra minutes.
Putting it on adaptive processing can save you 10s of minutes
A bit of tweaking could save you £70+
greetings KEE-LO... hows life treating you???
my experience with the power-management is that, it is good for your notebook to be turned off wenn it is not in use... but please... what good is power-management when you are actually working with your notebook... I mean who likes to have their screen turned off every 2 minutes just so your battery could last a couple of minutes longer. it actually makes me mad when i am in the middle of reading a page an all of a sudden my screen shuts off... come on folks... battery life has to improve in the notebook sector!
i need raw power... for at least 1h and 30m.
Hey Joe, not bad thnx
Yeah I agree, but as the poster is only 17, we have to do what we can with what we have, so lowering the brightness, turning things off every 5mins can all help.
so true KEE-LO... but the only thing that does help a little is to turn the brightness down and to cancel all or most of the active backround processes.
Yeah, things you don't need - don't run
hey kee-lo isn't that supposed to be a SONY slogan.... "if we don't want it... you don't need it"... grins
