I have a PCV-RS 504 with 1GB RAM, and want to take it to 2GB.
Actual Slots 1 and 3 house 1x512 each; 2 and 4 are empty.
I bought 2 x 512MB DDR400 and placed them in empty slots. Power up is ok, and BIOS shows 2GB RAM,
BUT after I work for a few minutes the PC freezes. Nothing moves, only way out is hard power off.
Can anybody give me some help?
Thanks, franco.

Hi Franco,
Try reseating all RAM – just in case there is poor connection.
Also, are the four modules identical in specification? This normally is not a problem but may possibly be the cause, or you could have one faulty module or slot.
Assuming that the supplier of the memory has a no quibble returns policy you may wish to consider purchasing two 1GB modules and place them in slots 1 & 3 – they are quite inexpensive...
