PCG-21313M touchpad not working

Hi, the touchpad on my notebook has stopped working. I have set it up so you can use the right mouse button as both the pad and the left  mouse button dosen't work. Can somebody tell me if there is a card behind the plastics that I can replace or is on the motherboard or the palm rest plastics its self please.

Hi Suzy,

You are quoting the chassis model number not the product number. You may find that it is a VPCM13M1E. If so I think the touchpad is part of the palmrest (top plastic casing) and this is connected to the motherboard by a replaceable ribbon cable.

There is always the possibility that the problem results from poor connection or damage to the ribbon cable.
