Hi all,
I got a PCG-GRT 816M and I'd like to know if overburning onto its CD driver is supported. Did anyone try to burn a CD-ROM of 900MB with success and without drawback for the CD driver?
Thanks
Zico

i also have a GRT816M and i installed nero 6... i haven't burned a cd with 900 mb, but what i have burned so far... worked without any abnormalities.

Hi joe, what do you mean with "what I've burned so far?". Do you have burned more than 700MB (i.e. 84m) with your driver or not? If yes this means that the Vajo CD-RW supports overburning
Thx
Zico
hi,
i am not much into burning or copying, but i remember that the *.dat file was about 804 mb large... and i did a one to one copy. it took a while but it worked. on what the exact specs are, i wouldn't be able to tell you!!!
sorry
Joe
Yeah I have seen people making 837MB VCDs of their holidays and I've always wondered how they fitted it on, strange really, some sort of compression that brings it down to 800MB, which apparently you can get CDs to burn onto which are 800MB
its not "compressed" as such, the space on a compact disc is marginally taken up by error correction. By "overburning" into the space reserved for error correction greater capacity is possible. However be warned with no error correction the slightest imperfection will result in at least some CRCs and possibly an unusable disk.

Thanks for that information GR.
