Are you referring to the touchpad or an external mouse?
If the touchpad then in Device Manager, under mice and other pointing devices right click the standard PS/2 mouse and select uninstall, then scan for hardware changes.
This should re-install the correct drivers and the device will then be listed as a PS/2 port pointing device.
