My camera is not working or my fn keys after upgrade to windows vista

Hi,

I recently upgraded to windows vista, but my camera and fn keys no longer work. After repeatedly trying to install the camera utility and events manager there is still no sign of them working. The camera utility simply closes half way through installation, and the event service seems to have some kind of problem when it starts up.

Can anybody help??? My notebook model is VGN-FJ3S/W

Hi Peteri and welcome to Club Vaio.

The camera problem is a known Vista bug and you are not alone!! Microsoft are producing a Hotfix and Sony are producing a new VCCU Camera Capture Utility. Hopefully this will be resolved soon as it was first identified on day 1 of Vista.

For the Function Keys, you need to download and install FROM SONY VAIO-LINK HERE IN STRICT ORDER: -

1. Sony Utilities
2. Sony Shared Library
3. Vaio Event Service
4. Setting Utility Series (under the "OTHER" Tab)

You may have to repeat this sequence of installations more than once.

Thanks a lot Blen, It's a shame about the camera but at least I know there working on it. Also thanks for the fn keys fix, I had to do it twice. Thanks! :smileygrin:
