Memory Stick Needs reboot HELP!

Hi,

I have the A497XP, and each time I insert a Sony 2GB memory card into the inbuilt reader it is not recognised immediatley.

If I restart then all is well. Is there a way around this?

It is a Duo card in a Sony adapter.

Thanks in advance,

Tony.

Please check wether the Index Service from Windows Options is activated and drive e:/ is listed among the drives to be indexed. If yes, remove the drive from the list.

I had the same problem with any Memorystick on my 397XP until I found out that the Index Service starts exactly 10 minutes after turning on the Computer. If there is no MS inserted in the drive at this point, the service crashes (nothing to be indexed...) and the drive is turned of (no more access possible from anywhere, e.g. Windows Explorer).

The drive listing can be found under Computer Administration-Services and Applications-Index service.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
