Hi All
I try to connect my FS315M to samsung LCD tv (via vga cable). At the beginning i thought that is a tv or cable issue but tv and cable work ok with ibm laptop. Don't know what is wrong, Vaio detects second monitor and enables to switch to lcd display but tv does not detects that pc is connected (tv detects pc source plugged in even when IBM is turned off). I'd previously had Lg lcd tv connected and everything was ok. Does someone have any idea how to solve that problem?
Many thanks
Hi qhuba and welcome to Club Vaio.
Unfortunately there is a known problem when connecting some Vaios to some Samsung displays by VGA cable. There is an incompatibility in the wiring of the VGA sockets.
I don't think a solution has been found (and the 'SEARCH' is not working on this forum).
My memory is not that good but I think the only way was to disable the Vaio Event Service - this means other things like your function keys will not work.
Sorry.
Unfortunately disabling Vaio Event Service didn't solve problem.
I wonder if there is another way or cable to make connection work?
Thanks

Gosh i hope thats not the end for us as my monitor cost me £500 i dont want it sat in a corner gathering dust forever.
is sony looking into finding a resolution to this problem and where does the incompatability lie, with sony or with samsung??? and is there an alternative way of connecting?
any updates to this problem will be gratefully received.
