Keyboard language troubles

Hello everybody.

My Vaio (type PCG-GRV516G) has a little problem. I don't know how but it suddenly use an American keyboard rather that my usual French keyboard (QWERTY rather than AZERTY). I thougt first the problem came from Windows XP Home edition. But in the configuration panel under language options, the French language from France has desapear and the US keyboard is the onlyone available.
Does anybody has an idea how to fix this problem ?

I think i had same problem with swedish and english language, i dont know whether you have tried changing setting in language bar or not, if not go to language bar and select your desired language both for keyboard and system.

I have already tried this trick, but even in the language bar I can't still change the US keyboard to French keyboard.

This is a Windows issue. Go to Control Panel - Regional and Language options. On the tab LanguageS there is an dETAILS ... button that will take you to the Text Services and Input Languages dialog. There you should have French and US keyboard. Mark the US keyboard and click Remove to delete it.

This should help you. Changing the language in the language bar will only change the input language for the current application so as soon as you open a new application you will be back to what you used there last.

If you follow this guide you should be able to set up the correct keyboard layout and preferred language.

On the Microsoft Windows Start menu, point to Control Panel.

Click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options and then click Regional and Language Options.

Click the Languages tab and then click Details under Text services and input languages.

Select the desired keyboard layout from the Default input language list and then click Apply.

If you want to be able to switch keyboard layouts by using the Language bar, click Language Bar under Preferences, and then select the Show the Language bar on the desktop check box.

Bonjour à tous...

I have already done this ! But I can't delete the US keyboard. It is the only keyboard available ! no other keyboard at all !
Is there any keyboard file to replace ?

Hi Mistiflore

Click the Languages tab and then click Details under Text services and input languages.

Once you have got to this far click add, a new box should appear, then select the desired keyboard layout language from the list and click ok.

Once French appears under the keyboard heading then delete the US keyboard.
