Installing a Sapphire ATI Radeon 9200 256mb DDR

I bought this from Liverpool City Centre, and the guy who sold me it said it is easy to fit if u can unscrew screws. I looked where my graphics card was, looking where the monitor input was, and saw a huge box for the power supply blocking my way of getting it out. I thought I should unscrew the power supply box and then take out the SiS 640_750 32mb Shared Memory, but I don't know if it would break my VAIO. The model is PCV-RX301

Thanks in advance

If it's an AGP card, then it's no good to you as you don't have the correct slot to fit it. Your computer has built-in graphics that share the main system memory. Only thing that you can do it to disable the onboard graphics & install a PCI graphics card. You will need to take the card back for a refund or exchange for a PCI graphics card.

Check this review of your computer as it will give you a good insight into what your computer has & its upgradeabilty.

Thank you for the reply, and I looked at the back of the cards box and it says AGP X3 so it means I'll have to go back the shop, maybe take my computer for them to install it for me

Erm, there's no such thing as AGP x3, it's either AGP x 4 / x 2

The 9200 will be x8. Think he just read it wrong.

Yeah I just thought that 3 and 8, look similar in a brush stroke.
Can I ask where you went in Liverpool ?
