I have just bought a Sony Vaio PCV-RS404 AND ALSO OWN A Sony PCG-F801 Laptop. Could someone be able to give me detailed instructions as to how to link these two computers together so i can transfer files.

I have tried for the last hour with out success.

i-Link is for FireWire and not for network usage. You are better of with a crossed utp cable and plug them into the networkconnectors :smileygrin:

it states in the help information on the lap top that i-link can be used to link the lap top up to another computer for file sharing, printing etc. So therefore it should be possible. Does anyone know how to do it?

of course it possible, start the new connnection wizard in XP and make sure the IEEE1394 is checked
