How to write onto DVD - RW?

can someone please help and advise me of how i write onto dvd disk? I need idiot proof instructions - i have made a fim from camera fottage but cannot do anything with it as it wont write onto any dvd rw? please help?dvd recording feedback

I am no expert in this field but in order for someone to help you a little more detail maybe useful:

1. Which Vaio model do you have.
2 .Do you know the model number of the optical drive.
3. Which burning software are you using.
4. What type of DVD-RW media are you using, eg Verbatim, Maxell, Sony etc.
