Help!!! Media Centre is not recording or downloading latest Guide.

Hi All

Hope you can Help me

I have got a Sony Vaio VGC LA1 running Windows Vista

I have upgraded the Ram to 2 Gig
this is the only modification

I have had it for around 10 months and has been brilliant.
This week for some strange reason it has stopped recording programs and wont download the latest EPG.

I still have 130 gig of hard drive space

Could anyone give me any advice please

Try a system restore to sometime last week when it was working. If you have nortons then your system restore will no doubt not work so go here and get the norton removal tool and the system restore will work perfectly and install nortons again or better still AVG ...its free and far superior.

If you remove the pre-installed Norton the only way you'll be re-install the norton application, unless things have changed, is by running the vaio Recovery utility to recover your C drive, this would involve deleting everything on your C drive..

If you run a system restore and get the Message: "Restoration Incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored . . . " and you have Norton installed, this can cause the problem with System restore, see HERE for a solution..

Ummm you can select Nortons in the utility to reinstall it without formating but otherwise you know I hate Nortons and I tried Thalamuses reccommendation and it didn't get the system restore working at all. However it may work for you so go ahead on your model it may indeed be the better way to go.
