HDMI on VAIO

does anyone knows what version of HDMI is installed on
AR21S & AR31S notebooks ? is it 1.2 or 1.3 ?

Yes you are right Kee-Lo for the AR31S. It's less clear for the AR21S.

The published specifications for TV-Out are:

AR31S - S-Video + HDMI 1.2 supporting HDCP

AR21S - S-Video + HDMI supporting HDCP

Now I am really quite upset...

Followed the instructions for the 'HDMI Software 071025a' update which incidentally is supposed to offer HDMI 1.3 support. To quote "This program will update HDMI firmware to resolve the issue of no audio through HDMI when PC is connected to an HDMI 1.3 equipped display."

All was going well until the following instructions in the install notes:
19. Expand Display adapters and double-click NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 GT.
20. Select the Driver tab and click the Roll Back Driver button.
21. Click Yes and wait Windows performs the requested operation.
22. Click Close when this operation is completed.

The I followed the on 'Roll Back Driver' my HDMI connection stopped transmitting, I performed a restart and still nothing, I have even rolled back to a System Restore point but still nothing.

So now I am left with an AR31S with a completely dead HDMI port, thanks a bunch Sony.

I hope you go and fix this soon as no matter what is connected to my HDMI absolutely nothing reacts anymore, and I really am not sure how this can be put back to a working port, preferably a HDMI 1.3 port as advertised on the update.
