hard drive connections

well, guess what, i have a sony vaio,lol:smileygrin: but im thinking of buying a new new drive for it. there some 10,000RMPs that have just come out on the market and if pos, i wanna get one of those, does any one know what i should look for. IDE? SAS? SATA. i know nothing about all this lol,. thanks! i have a VGN-T2XP/s if you need to know

I would guess you have an IDE drive, If you want to replace it with a faster one it will have to be the same physical dimensions which will probably rule out these new 10,000rpm drives.

Most notebooks take a 2.5" drive, others like mine take a 1.8".

thanks. some one said sumin about SAS? can i take this or do u have to have a IDE 2.5?

I'd use Everest Home Edition to find this out, as I have heard some new VAIOs are using SATA
